CEO & President of PATH to be CityU’s Commencement Speaker

blog-120531-stevedavis-600x899This year, City University of Seattle is delighted to welcome President and CEO of PATH, Steve Davis, as its commencement speaker. Like CityU, PATH is a nonprofit organization focused on serving and improving lives around the world. Specifically, PATH is an international nonprofit headquartered in Seattle. Its headquarters is around four blocks from CityU’s Seattle campus. Throughout its efforts, it transforms global health through innovation and takes an entrepreneurial approach to developing and delivering high-impact, low-cost solutions, from lifesaving vaccines and devices to collaborative programs with communities. PATH works in more than 70 countries and with their partners, empower people to achieve full potential.

President and CEO Steve Davis oversees PATH’s diverse portfolio, leads its overall strategy, fosters partnerships, and represents PATH around the world. Prior to joining PATH in 2012, he served as a business leader and strategist for a range of private and nonprofit companies and international organizations. His experience includes serving as CEO of Corbis, a global digital media firm; directing the Infectious Disease Research Institute as interim CEO; and advising top international organizations as director of social innovation for McKinsey & Company. Earlier in his career, he practiced law at the international law firm of K&L Gates with a focus on intellectual property. Steve’s long-standing commitment to human rights, global health and development is reflected in his earlier work with international refugee and human rights organizations.

Steve currently serves on the boards of the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center and Global Partnerships. And, is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations and holds a faculty appointment as a senior fellow at the University of Washington School Of Law.

His academic credentials boast of a Bachelor of Arts from Princeton University, a Master of Arts in Chinese studies from the University of Washington, and a law degree from Columbia University.
