On his way to Saturday’s commencement in Bratislava, Slovakia, City University of Seattle’s President Lee Gorsuch emailed this blog post and these beautiful pictures from Vienna. Check back over the next week to read stories and see pictures from his travels.

My favorite time of year is just around the corner. I’m planning my commencement journey, which this year will begin in Seattle on June 19th and will take me around the globe to Slovakia on June 26th, Bulgaria on June 27th, and Greece on June 29th to confer degrees upon City University of Seattle students who have worked so hard, and dedicated so much of their lives to earn their degrees.
So many of our students from around the world have triumphed over adversity and persevered through when life became difficult. I am always proud of our students as they walk across the stage and we symbolically pass the torch of knowledge from faculty to graduates.
I hope, as students order caps and gowns and make plans for friends and family to participate in this milestone event, they will reflect and find satisfaction in their truly amazing accomplishments. I look forward to personally greeting graduates and their families and friends in June.
